Jazmin Aguilar is a director and editor from Los Angeles. Growing up a first generation Mexican American, Jazmin's main focus is to highlight her home town of South Gate and normalize the Hollywood Chicanx perspective. Her director debut The Letter won the Jury Award for Best College Short at the SA Film Festival, among other official selections at Academy Award/BAFTA qualifying festivals. Her current projects include her debut feature, Hija De Tu Madre. To keep busy, she directs theater plays that revolve around the latino perspective. She is also editing projects for Dragon Chain (Disney innovation company), Danny Seraphine from the classic rock band Chicago and assisting promotional videos for Nolan Bushnell (the creator of Atari).
